Chief Data Officer
Mai AlOwaish is the Chief Data Officer at Gulf Bank; She is a seasoned information systems and data analytics expert with 17 years of experience between Kuwait and the United States where she spearheaded a variety of data analytics and e-commerce initiatives and enabled digital transformation for financial institutions, retailers, airlines, and more. In her current position, She leads the data and analytics practice in Gulf Bank and oversees the data strategy and implementation of data science and analytics use cases. Previously in the United States, Mai spent 10 years working with Google partners where she consulted corporate organizations on leveraging digital data, setting up & optimizing Google data and analytics solutions for retail and eCommerce businesses. Prior to that, Mai has led digital banking initiatives with the National Bank of Kuwait, Commercial Bank and Boubyan Bank. Mai is a published author, speaker and an award winner; thought pieces on analytics models were featured in the Applied Marketing Analytics journal and the Analytics Interpreted book. Mai is also a certified PMP, CWA and is the recipient of the President’s Awards from the international Digital Analytics Association. Mai spoke in the Women in Analytics 2019 conference (Ohio,USA), Analytics OneConference 2020 (Chicago,USA) and Google Summits of 2019 and 2020 (California, USA).
