Senior Vice President - Head of Operations
Sandeep Shetty is currently Senior Vice President of Operations at Careem. In his current role he is responsible for overseeing operations for the Careem network including end to end supply i.e. acquisition, performance management and retention for 500,000 + Captains (drivers) across the network, the contact center network of 1500 + agents across 6 languages in 6 countries, serving customers and captains, Safety, Quality and Fraud for customers and captains, Marketplace operations including demand supply matching, budget optimization across demand and supply, marketplace policies etc and other strategic topics including operating models, shared services strategy etc. Sandeep has a solid track record in operations, transformation and strategy, having spent 17 years primarily across GE Capital, Wells Fargo, McKinsey and Emirates NBD in senior leadership roles in the US, India and the Middle East. Prior to joining Careem, Sandeep spent five years at Emirates NBD where he led several end-to-end digital transformation initiatives for the bank and helped design and execute the creation of Tanfeeth, Emirates NBD’s shared services entity. He has also served at McKinsey's Dubai office for four years during which he worked on several operations and strategies for clients across the Middle East. Before McKinsey, Sandeep spent six years with GE Capital/Genpact as Vice President, 3 of which were spent in the United States serving Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) in the capacity of a Lean Transformation leader. Sandeep holds Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) respectively.
